Day 01 : Galle

Arrival to the Bandaranayke International Airport and Proceed to Galle. Rest of the day leisure in the hotel or explore your own. In the evening welcome dinner in a local restaurant in Galle Fort.

Day 02 : Sri Lankan cookery demonstration / Galle Fort

After breakfast meet chef Sampath and visit the local fish market and vegetable market. Opportunity to learn about how to select fresh fish and vegetables. Thereafter enjoy the Sri Lankan cookery demonstration and enjoy your authentic lunch which you made.
In the late afternoon visit Old Dutch Fort in Galle. The Galle Fort is the best preserved of the many Dutch Forts located around the country and truly allows a glimpse in to Sri Lanka’s colonial past. The tiny guest houses and restaurants located on quaint, narrow, cobblestoned streets which crisscross the fort; make it easy to imagine what life must have been like during the Dutch colonization. A sunset walk along the magnificent ramparts which once fortified this town will be a spectacular start to your first day of exploring Sri Lanka.

Day 03 : Tangalle / Rekawa Turtle Conservation Project

Leave after breakfast for Tangalle one of the fine beach location in Sri Lanka. En route visit Turtle Farm, Stilt fishermen and Wewrukannala Rajamaha Viharaya.
In the late evening enjoy a very special program in Rekawa Turtle Conservation Project. You will be able to see natural habitats of turtles.

Day 04 : Yala National Park

Early morning proceed to Yala National Park for jeep safari, one of the best national park for Leopards in Sri Lanka.

Day 05 : Kataharagama / Arugam bay

After breakfast proceed to Arugam bay. One of the world best place for Surfing. En route visit Kataragama & Kiriwehera Temple.

Day 07 : Passikudah

Proceed after breakfast to the east coast of the island to a quite bay located just north of Baticaloa and the more touristic resort of Passikudah.

Day 08 & 09 : Passikudah

Leisure on the beach, Opportunity for optional snorkeling excursion along the reef which protects this bay. There are also several shipwrecks which have become fantastic artificial reefs. Optional scuba diving is also possible.

Day 10 : Polonnaruwa / Minneriya National Park

After Breakfast proceed to explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa (An UNESCO Heritage) including the royal palace and temple complex. Walk through the Citadel of King Parakramabahu, his royal baths and audience hall. Proceed through the quadrangle and temple complex including the Watadageya and the special Temple of the Tooth of Polonnaruwa which 2000 years ago, housed the Tooth Relic which is now enshrined at the temple of the Tooth in Kandy. Also see the Lanka Thialaka temple and finally the incredible stone statues of the Lord Buddha at the Gal Vihara Temple complex.
In the afternoon take a Jeep Safari of Minneriya National Park to experience the mighty ‘Gathering’ of wild elephants. The park is most special during the period May to September. Each year, during these months, with the onset of the dry season, most of the lakes in the region do go dry. The mighty Minneriya Lake too recedes. In its wake it reveals a lush green grassland which attracts multiple herds of wild elephants. Each evening allows the opportunity to see 200 – 300 elephants grazing by the lake. Large hungry bird flocks coexist peacefully with the elephants as they share the waterhole.
Thereafter proceed to Hotel in Dambulla.
Overnight in Dambulla or Sigiriya.

Day 11 : Sigiriya / Dambulla

Leave after breakfast to climb and explore the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya (An UNESCO Heritage). Arrive early in an effort to avoid the large crowds of tourists who will arrive later in the day.
Proceed thereafter to Negombo. En route visit Dambulla cave temples.
Drop at the hotel in Negombo for overnight stay.

Full day leisure on the Beach. In the evening enjoy the farewell dinner in a local restaurant.
