Western Province

Extremely socio-economically advanced of Sri Lanka is the Western Province consisting of three administrative districts- Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara. The province is home to approximately 5.8 million people. It is the hub of tourism and contributes more than 50% to the gross domestic product. Western Province is the kernel to all tourism services distributional channels. A commercial nucleus with a major airport and harbor is formed with the linkage of the three districts.
The province inherits a rich historical and cultural heritage with many places to visit and travel back and in time. With a coastal belt of golden sand beach, the province is blessed with ample natural resources to beauty it.
Aligning itself with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs), the province envisions improvising the living condition of the inhabitants via developing the agricultural, agrarian, irrigational, industrial and environmental activities.
