Day 01 : Sigiriya

Arrival to Bandaranayake International Airport and proceed to the historical area called, Sigiriya located in the heart of the central cultural region of the island. You will drive through coconut plantations, paddy fields, small villages and small forest areas, perfect introduction to Sri Lanka.

Day 02 : Sigiriya / Minneriya National Park

After breakfast very interesting walk to Sigiriya through village, chena farms and paddy fields. You will pass the small tanks & bunt (which made for farming) It`ll be a good opportunity to see lots of birds on your way if you start early.
Climb and explore the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya(An UNESCO Heritage). Sigiriya is a historical palace which has technology yet archaeologists searching. Painted wall arts, Ponds and the ruins of the palace will bring the early technology they used.
In the afternoon take a Jeep Safari for Minneriya National Park to experience the mighty ‘Gathering’ of wild elephants. Also, many kinds of animals going to be seen whenon the travel. It always brings you the WOW fact when you experience. The park is most special during the period May to September. Each year, during these months, with the onset of the dry season, most of the lakes in the region do go dry. The mighty Minneriya Lake too recedes. In its wake it reveals a lush green grassland which attracts multiple herds of wild elephants. Each evening allows the opportunity to see 200 – 300 elephants grazing by the lake. Large hungry bird flocks coexist peacefully with the elephants as they share the waterhole.

Day 03 : Polonnaruwa / Pasikudah

After breakfast proceed to royal ancient city of Polonnaruwa. Today the ancient city of Polonnaruwa(An UNESCO Heritage) remains one of the best planned archaeological relic cities in the country, standing testimony to the discipline and greatness of the Kingdom’s first rulers. The ancient city of Polonnaruwa has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO.
Thereafter proceed to Pasikudha, the coastal resort town located 35 kilometers northwest of Batticaloa and one of the best beach paradises in Sri Lanka. Historically a small Tamil hamlet alongside nearby Kalkudah, it used to be a popular tourist destination. Pasikudah is known to have one of the longest stretches of shallow reef coastline in the world. People walk kilometers into the sea because the water is only a few inches deep and the current is relatively weak compared to the rest of Sri Lanka’s coasts. The nearest airport to Pasikudah is Batticaloa Airport, which has scheduled flights operating from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport.

Day 05 : Trincomalee

After Breakfast proceed to Trincomalee, port city on the northeast coast of Sri Lanka.You will drive through Kinniya Bridge, the longest bridge in Sri Lanka with a length of 396 meters. It crosses the lagoon area surrounded by Koddiyar Bay and Tambalagam Bay.
Trincomalee has some of the most picturesque and scenic beaches found in Sri Lanka, relatively unspoilt and clean. The area is famous for bathing and swimming, owing to the relative shallowness of the sea, allowing one to walk out over a hundred meters into the sea without the water reaching the chest. Whale watching is a common pastime in the sea of Trincomalee. The Trincomalee harbour, the fifth largest natural harbour in the world, is overlooked by terraced highlands, its entrance is guarded by two headlands, and there is a carriage road along its northern and eastern edges.

Day 06 : Pigeon Island Nilaveli

Leave after breakfast for Pigeon Island, one of the two marine national parks of Sri Lanka. The national park is situated 1 km off the coast of Nilaveli. The island’s name derives from the rock pigeon which has colonized it. The national park contains some of the best remaining coral reefs of Sri Lanka.

Day 07 : Koneswaram Temple / Dutch / Hot springs of Kanniya

After breakfast visit The Koneswaram Temple, Dutch Fort and hot springs of Kanniya.
The Koneswaram temple, with a recorded history from the 3rd century BCE and legends attesting to classical antiquity attracted pilgrims from all parts of India. The shrine itself was demolished in 1622 by the Portuguese (who called it the Temple of a Thousand Columns), and who fortified the heights with the materials derived from its destruction.
The entrance to the roadway leading to Koneswaram is actually the entrance to what used to be Fort Fredrick. The fort was built in 1623 by the Portuguese and captured in 1639 by the Dutch.
There are the seven hot springs of Kanniya (Kal = stone; niya = land), on the road to Trincomalee. A high wall bounds the rectangular enclosure which includes all seven springs. Each is in turn enclosed by a dwarf wall to form a well. The water is warm, the temperature of each spring being slightly different.

Day 08 : Anuradhapura

Leave after breakfast to Anuradhapura (An UNESCO Heritage), Sri Lanka’s third capital of the Kingdom Rajarata, following the kingdoms of Tambapanni and Upatissa Nuwara. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and one of the eight World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka.

Day 09 : Anuradhapura / Wilpattu National Park

After breakfast explore the ruins in Old City Anuradhapura, the archaeological data put the date as far back as the 10th century BC. The ruins consist of three classes of buildings, dagobas, monastic buildings, and pokunas. The main attractions of Anuradhapura are Eight Great Places of Veneration “Atamasthana”, which includes Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, Ruwanwelisaya, Thuparamaya,Lovamahapaya, AbhayagiriDagaba, Jetavanarama, Mirisaveti Stupa &Lankarama.
In the afternoon proceed to Wilpattu National Park, one of the best park for Sri Lankan Leopards. Enjoy the evening jeep safari.

Day 10 : Negombo

Leave after breakfast to Negombo. (Optional morning game drive in Wilpattu National Park.) In the Evening, Negombo city tour and farewell dinner in a local restaurant.
