Get up early and start your drive to Willpattu for Leorpads. Visit the ancient civilization, the first one to inhabit Sri Lanka and take it all. Enjoy the village tour with experience of catamaran ride and authentic Sri Lankan foods. Wake up with the sound of the birds and set off to Polanaruwa and explore the remaining ruins and the large Buddha statues carved out of solid rock.Experience the mighty ‘Gathering’ of wild elephants and allows the opportunity to see 200 – 300 elephants grazing by the lake. Dambulla offers a glimpse into the most colorful caves in Asia. ExploreKandy city where you can visit the Monastery and Tooth Relic.Wander the Botanic Gardens, its home to largest Orchid collection in Sri Lanka before driving back to the airport.

Day 01 : Negombo

Arrival to Bandaranayake International Airport and transfer to Negombo, 15 minutes from the airport. Rest of the day leisure in the hotel or explore Negombo city by bicycle.Visit Fish market, Local market, Buddhist temples, Hindu temple, Dutch church, Dutch canals and fort.
In the evening enjoy the welcome dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 02 : Wilpattu National Park / Anuradhapura

Leave after breakfast for Wilpattu National Park, among the top National parks world-renowned for its leopard (Pantheraparduskotiya) population. Enjoy the evening game drive in Wilpattu National Park. Elephant, sloth bear, leopard, water buffalo, sambhur and spotted deer are some of Wilpattu’s residents.
Thereafter proceed to sacred city of Anuradhapura (An UNESCO Heritage). Anuradhapura is home to the oldest human-planted tree in the world, Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi.

Day 03 : Anuradhapura / Mihintale / Sigiriya

After breakfast visit Anuradhapura Old City,take a trip back 2,500 years ago to the once blossoming City of Anuradhapura that lies in ruins today. Bask in the raw beauty of Sri Lanka’s first Capital City, which has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. ExploreEight Great Places of Veneration in Anuradhapura –Atamasthana, Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, Ruwanwelisaya, Thuparamaya, Lovamahapaya, AbhayagiriDagaba, Jetavanarama, Mirisaveti Stupa, Lankaramaand also one of the most fascinating parts of moonstone or Sandakada Pahana.
In the evening visit Mihinthale, mountain peak near Anuradhapura, which is 1,000 feet (300 m) in height and is one of the peaks of a mountainous range. Sri Lankans believed that Mihinthale to be the site of a meeting between the Buddhist Monk Mahinda and King Devanampiyatissa which inaugurated the presence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.

Day 04 : Sigiriya

After breakfast climb and explore the Sigiriya Lions’s Rock another World Heritage site of UNESCO. Lion’s Rock or Sigiriya is Sri Lanka’s most visited site. It’s a palace built on top of rock nearly 200 meters high with the world’s oldest landscaped gardens.
It’s better to start early morning before the crowds arrive, ideally be at the gate by 8am.Once you reach to the top, take it the 360 degree view all in. Sigiriya is surrounded by a network of canals and dams that provided water to the city and which are believed to be the oldest irrigation system in the world and some water fountains are still working perfectly.
In the late afternoon, just before the sunset you will engage with very interesting activity. You will walk through the lake bunt and meet the local farmer. You will be able to see lots of birds and some wild lives and also you will meet locals, who use to ride a Bicycle to go home end of their work. From this point you will continue on to a traditional catamaran ride with his own catamaran.The area has various types of aquatic and plant life. You will able to see water birds and occasionally water monitors. You will cross the lake by catamaran and visit his Chena farm. You will be able to see seasonal vegetables at the time of your visit. Thereafter proceed to his small house, while making your traditional dinner by his wife you will be able to have a chat with his family about the area, history of Sigiriya and way of life in villages. Also you will able to join with his wife to make the dinner.
After having the traditional dinner with delicious lake fish curry you will return to the hotel.

Day 05 : Polonnaruwa / Minneriya National Park

After breakfast proceed to royal ancient city of Polonnaruwa (An UNESCO Heritage), which is one of Sri Lanka’s ancient Medieval Kingdoms that is located in the gorgeous Cultural Triangle. Today the ancient city of Polonnaruwa remains one of the best planned archaeological relic Cities in the Country, standing testimony to the discipline and greatness of the Kingdom’s first rulers. The ancient City of Polonnaruwa has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Explore the Polonnaruwa old City by bicycle.
In the afternoon take a Jeep Safari of Minneriya National Park to experience the mighty ‘Gathering’ of wild Elephants. Also other animals like Deers, wild Buffalos, Crocodile, Iguanas, Monkeys as well as birds like Peacocks, Pelicans, Eagles & etc…It’s always bring you the WOW fact when you experience. The park is most special during the period of May to September. Each year, during these months, with the onset of the dry season, most of the lakes in the region do go dry. The mighty Minneriya Lake too recedes. In its wake it reveals a lush green grassland which attracts multiple herds of wild Elephants. Each evening allows the opportunity to see 200 – 300 Elephants grazing by the lake. Large hungry bird flocks coexist peacefully with the Elephants as they share the waterhole.

Day 06 : Dambulla Cave Temple / Matale / Kandy

Leave after breakfast for Dambulla Cave Temple, World Heritage site by UNESCO.Climb up the Rock to visit the Golden Dambulla Cave Temple, more than 150 Buddha statues and frescoes situated in Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle.
Thereafter proceed to Kandy, Sri Lanka’s hill Capital. En route visit spice gardens and Aluvihare Rock Temple, which was the historic location where the Pāli Canon was first written down completely in text on ola (palm) leaves. Many monastery Caves, some of which exhibit frescoes are situated near this Temple.

Day 07 : Explore Kandy / Peradeniya Botanical Gardens

After breakfast visit Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic at the time of morning “puja”. During puja (offerings or prayers), the heavily guarded room housing the tooth is open to devotees and tourists.Tooth Relic Temple has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO.
Thereafter enjoy the Kandy city by TukTuk. Drive through market streets and visit local shops, and feel the real Sri Lankan way of life.
In the afternoon visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden, home for its large collection of Orchid and more than 4000 species of plants.
In the evening enjoy the Sri Lankan traditional dance performance.

Day 08 : Colombo

After breakfast proceed to Colombo Sri Lanka’s commercial City. On the way you can make several stops for drinks or rest. In the late afternoon enjoy the Colombo city, visit Colombo Museum, Independence Squire, Market Place, Gangarama Temple…. Thereafter walk along the Galle Face Green and enjoy your farewell dinner in one of the fancier restaurant, or if you have shorter time, Negombo is a popular stop for those trying to spend an hour or so.
